Mark Green

Chief Operating Officer

Mark Green serves as chief operating officer at EdgePrimePower where he leads project execution and delivery and ensures long-term operational performance. He brings more than three decades of global power-sector experience spanning operations, P&L leadership, project development, project finance, construction, and asset management.

Before joining EdgePrimePower, Mark was recruited by BlackRock/GIP to serve as chief operating officer of their portfolio company, Atlas Renewable Energy, leveraging his extensive global experience to strengthen operational reliability and drive strategic growth in Latin America. In this role, he oversaw the company’s broader Latin American portfolio and operating assets in Brazil, including Alianca Geração de Energia.

Prior to working at Atlas Renewable, Mark held a series of senior leadership positions at AES, rising through the ranks to president of AES Eurasia. There he was responsible for P&L, development, mergers and acquisitions, project finance, construction, operations, and stakeholder management across a business with approximately $3.5 billion in annual revenue and a 10GW+ portfolio of thermal, hydro, wind, solar, and battery storage assets. During this period, he also assumed additional responsibilities as AES President, International Green Hydrogen, chief operating officer, Global Hydrogen, and chief operating officer of AES Indiana, managing an additional 7GW+ of power generation. His earlier AES roles include serving as chief operating officer for AES Europe, country manager for Turkey and Jordan, regional business development managing director for AES EMEA, and chief executive officer of AES-IC Turkey.

Mark is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Marine Engineering program and the NUS Theory of Power Generation program, and has completed extensive technical and executive education training, including programs at the Darden School of Business, Harvard Business School, Georgetown University, and the University of St. Gallen.
