Vera Carley

Head of External Affairs

Vera Carley serves as Head of External Affairs at EdgePrimePower, where she leads communications, stakeholder, and regulatory strategy in support of the platform. She brings 20 years of experience in corporate communications, community affairs, media relations, and stakeholder relationships to the role.

Previously, Vera was Head of Communications at Earthrise Energy, where she shaped the company’s brand narrative, oversaw media and stakeholder communications, launched its community engagement platform, and supported project development in local communities. She also managed state-level regulatory relationships, overseeing external lobbyists and engaging with economic and business development agencies to advance project permitting and maintain visibility on regulatory developments that could affect project pipelines.

Before that, she served as Manager of Communications at GridLiance, an electric transmission startup, leading media relations and branding, and communications for business development and regulatory initiatives.

Earlier in her career, Vera served as Assistant Vice President of External Communications and Director of Media Relations and Financial Communications at Assurant, a Fortune 500 insurance company. She also served as Director of Media Relations and Corporate Communications at Covanta Energy, a waste-to-energy company, overseeing media relations, branding, and advertising. 

Vera earned a bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism from Rutgers College and a Master of Science in strategic communications from Columbia University.
